Information
Groovedown Version 0.6 is a revolution in Downloadtools for Grooveshark.com . In comparison with the old 0.2 Version it is unbeatable. We improved speed and stability, fixed a variety of known bugs and added some awesome features like the Playlist Download. A big plus is that Groovedown is independent from the .Net Framework.

When Downloading Groovedown, what you get is a Zip File. Extract it to the Desktop or some other Place you like and have fun.

Aber ich schaffs ja nichteinmal Groovedown zu öffnen also hat diese Meldung (nach meinen Englischkenntnissen) keinen Sinn oder?!

Ist es normal, dass ich Grovedown nicht mehr nutzen kann vor dem Update? Ich verwende es unter Mac.
@JF , Es sollte wieder funktonieren, mein Fehler. Wie bringst du das Programm unter Mac zum Laufen? Kannst du ein Tutorial darüber machen? Bin kein Mac User.

Als verbesserungs vorschlag, könnte man einführen dass das Programm eine Liste aller schon einmal runtergeladen songs hat und so einen drauf aufmerksam machen kann wenn man ein Lied schon hat und es nochmal runter laden will.
So vermeidet man doppeldaten bei zB “favorit songs”.

es wird auf jeden Fall so sein, dass ein Song nicht 2mal heruntergeladen wird. Und eine entsprechende Meldung wird in’s Log ausgegeben. Ein Download Log, mit allen heruntergeladenen Songs werden wir ggf. in der nächsten Version hinzufügen.

Und die Gesammtprozessbar stimmt nicht mit den kleinen überein… hat mir bei 2 Songs nur die hälfte angeziet als es fast fertig war =)

Die große Progressbar zeigt den Gesamtfortschritt und die kleine zeigt den Fortschritt für ein einzelnes Lied.

Momentan ist der große Vorteil , das unser Programm auf das .Net Framework verzichtet. Komplett. Es hebt sich weiterhin dadurch ab das es Multilingual ist, davon siehst du momentan noch nix. Wir haben das mehrsprachige Modul aber fast fertig. Sind jedoch noch am Bugs fixen. Damit ist es dann möglich es in viele andere Sprachen zu übersetzen. Im Hintergrund werden auch noch weitere , zusätzliche Features programmiert.
Wenn du heute noch nicht weißt was uns besser macht, spätestens in 2 Wochen weißt du es
Hi Jungs, habe die Version 0.5 getestet. Wenn ich einige Titel selektiere und den Download starte funktioniert das anfangs einwandfrei. Nun aber die Exception: Ist ein Titel in eurem Progi markiert zum Download, befindet sich aber NICHT auf dem Groovi-Server, bricht das Programm mit Error ‘NULL’ ab, statt das es versucht, diesen ‘DUMMY’ Eintrag zu überspringen. Dies als kleine Anregung betr. an den Bugs zu feilen. LG Sorsele63

Hi, also wie im Mail erwähnt, werde ich versuchen das entsprechende File zu finden. Dass das Statusfenster nicht rechts/links scrollbar ist und keine Log-Datei erstellt wird, macht es allerdings schwierig. Werde aber mein Bestes tun… Unterdessen teste ich Eure V.0.6. Grüsse us dä Schwyz

@admin unter mac kann mans mit wine benutzen. mit wine kann man fast alle windows programme auf verschiedenen Betriebssystemen (also mac und linux) ausführen => http://www.winehq.org/

you shouldnt receive this error, as it worked in our version perfectly. u can help us to track this error down, with giving us some more details about your download. simply contact us via contact form.
the current groovedown has its hooks, and some things are not so smooth as we want them to be. for example the updates. fortunately all these things will be fiXxed in our java version. so have a nice christmas and stay tuned for the new GrooveDown version.
Es wäre so cool wenn ihr einbauen könntet, dass man auch gesamte erstellte Playlisten am stück ziehen könnte. Das wäre echt nen killerfeature gegenüber dem scilor-programm
So braucht man sich dann nicht immer mühsam die Lieder aus der Suche holen, wenn man schon playlisten hat.

Groovedown hat seine Vor- und Nachteile genauso wie das Scilor programm. Persönlich nutze ich unter Windows das von Scilor unter MacOSX Groovedown.
Aber wie gesagt, dass von Scilor kann Playlisten!
Finds arg ungewöhnlich, dass du von dir in der dritten Person redest? liljawa ( Scilor ), es ist in Ordnung, wenn du fuer dein Projekt auch HIER werben moechtest. Allerdings waere es fairer von dir, es nicht unter einem fremden sondern unter deinen Namen zu machen. Wir glauben nicht, dass du es noetig hast unter einen anderen Namen hier Werbung zu machen…schliesslich sollte jeder zu seiner Arbeit stehen, so auch du zu deiner.

Ja wir haben etwas von “Standards” gehört. Sind aber 1) nicht an diese gebunden, da es ein privates Freizeitprojekt von ein paar angeheiterten Programmierern ist.
Und 2) konnte ich bislang nicht feststellen, dass wir einen “zurück”-Buttonimplementiert haben welcher das Programm schließt. Es ist btw gang und gäbe das der About Text auch durch einen Druck geöffnet wird. Wenn es dich so sehr stört kann ich dir auch gerne eine eigene Version fertigen

Hi, ich habe die ersten Lieder erfolgreich runtergeladen.
Dann habe ich unter “Tools” und “Popular songs” eine Liste mit 500 Vorschlägen erhalten. Dabei dacht ich, ach komm, lade Dir alles runter und entscheide hinterher was Du behälst und was Du löscht. Es fing an ganz emsig zu laden, sehr schön. Aber ab einem gewissen Punkt lief alles viel schneller und ich stellte die folgende Error Message fest:

(Name des Titels)
Wenn ich mit dem Windows Explorer im Downloadfolder nachschaue, sind die betroffenen Folder wirklich leer.

Bueno, con la noticia de que mi GrooveDown volvio a funcionar, tal parece que el error fue causado al cambiar la manera de organizar los archivos que hace el programa, ya que yo modifique los datos en \\ – por –

I’m constantly getting an error when I try to download “Please set a new DownloadDirectory”.
I’ve tried the program with multiple directories on multiple computers with a variety of Windows versions, all have the same error.

yeah, I started getting that problem recently. You gotta create the folders leading to the mp3 file manually instead of letting the program create it.
ex: C:/artist/name/hello.mp3
you have to create the path C:/artist/name/
Are you using Win 7?
That might be a problem with admin permissions.. cause it cannot create stuff in the root dir. That’s what i think at first.
Anyways.. aproximately 14 days. Then we launch the new Version which will fix all thos problems
spent a lot of time setting 50 songs to download – the first download and the rest kept saying eidrequired and were all 0 kb. not as good as i hoped it would be.

EIDhostrequired still present, first time i try and i get this message after 55 download of the top list
also ich muss ehrlich sagen, das ist eines der genialsten projekte die ihr underground blogger euch ausdenken konntet. im großen und ganzen bin ich komplett zufrieden mit dem was mir groove down schon jetzt bietet. ich hatte es einfach satt mich ständig um socks zu kümmern um 100% von youtube rauszuholn… es ist umständlich von dort alles zu ziehn, aber das brauchts jetzt nichtmehr.
bis jetzt haben sich schon einige gigs angesammelt, und was mich ein wenig wundert, weshalb so sehr viele doppelte einträge dabei sind? ich versorg euch gern mit screens und infos, mailt mir einfach, aber bis jetzt, einfach, gj 
wäre da der hacken mit den eids nicht… was jedoch, hab ich gemerkt, total zwielichtig auftritt. aber durch die downloadlist bügelt sich das ganze aus
ach ja, mit reversing hab ich zwar nciht viel am hut, aber warum oder was will der client auf euren servern verbinden?^^ wenn er sich doch ins groovesharck netzwerk verbinden soll, oder hab ich was in den falschen hals bekommen? ^^ autoupdate? iwleche langfiles? oder was geht wirklich bei euch ab?;)

Es ist natuerlich KEIN Geheimnis wofuer sich GrooveDown mit unserem Server verbindet. Als erstes, wie du es richtig genannt hast, guckt GrooveDown ob eine aktuellere Version vorhanden ist. Wenn dies der Fall ist, wird man informiert. Desweiteren interessiert uns natuerlich auch, wieoft GrooveDown nun wirklich gestartet wird. Also wird jedesmal wenn ein Client zu uns connected um nach Updates zu gucken, auch ein Counter +1 gesetzt.
Ohm, wir sind KEINE Untergrundblogger. Ist jetz nicht so, dass wir beleidigt sind, jedoch waere es nett wenn du mit uns soetwas nicht assoziierst.

– If one clicks an item twice, it gets added twice to the DownloadList
– Should be possible to select deselect groups of items (e.g. using ctrl or shift) and add them afterwards to the DownloadList (add selected button below list)

Ich bekomme beim Starten folgende Meldung:

Anschließend öffnet das Programm für einen Bruchteil einer Sekunde & schließt sich anschließend sofort.
Vorher hat noch alles geklappt.
Neu runtergeladen hat auch nichts genützt.

Mit dem Mac klappt es irgendwie nicht. Es wird zwar angezeigt, dass der Download beendet ist, aber es wurde nix in den angegebenen Ordner herunter geladen… Wisst ihr woran das liegen könnte?
I love this tool and you did a great job.

3.) Not create zero byte files
4.) Integrate with online music site to populate MP3 tag details
5.) Support more music formats other than MP3
6.) Create a open source project to get more code contributors to help you with this great tool
That being said, I realize this is still a young program and I really appreciate what you are doing here.

I have a huge playlist I really want to download with many albums. How can I do this WITHOUT searching for all the songs one after one?

Return more than 200 songs
One thing I really want to see in the next version is the ability to sort the files that come up according to bit-rate. Some songs on Grooveshark are at a low bit-rate and as a result sound crappy, and if the search results were sorted from highest bit-rate to lowest bit-rate it would greatly reduce the chance of downloading a poor-quality file.

Recently when I open up Groovedown, it says, “Is grooveshark down?” and to contact the admin on this website if it’s not. This is an error I get [EIdHTTPProtocolException:HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permantely].
I did some research and figured out what is probably causing this. Grooveshark has changed it’s url address from listen.grooveshark.com to grooveshark.com, so the change has messed up the program as well. So maybe you have to modify your program’s code?

However, I’m still getting the error EIdHostRequired. I’m using .65 version.
Note: while search for Thin Lizzy songs, it shows me 200 tracks. The download goes fine to a certain point, from where on, nothing more is downloaded, showing this error to all subsequent tracks.
And ues, I selected all those 200 tracks to be downloaded… Does this matter?

i have additional comments to the error “EIDHost required”:
I use the version 0.65 on windows 7.
If i enter “Daniel Merriweather Bravo Impossible” in the search windows and try to download this song, the above error occurs always.
As it seems to be not too easy to fix this, other ideas:
+ Do not create the 0 Byte file, or delete it after the error occurs
+ If the 0 byte file already exists, do not say “file exists, skipping”, but overwrite it (only if the size is 0 bytes)
But anyway, GrooveDown is a great tool, thank you for that!

I’ve resolved closing GrooveDown deleting all o byte *.mp3 and restarting
Hum… that’s probably cuz we forget once to check if the Grooveshark session is still valid so that it loads Mp3′s but actually it cannot access them no more… i’ll check if i can present a short workaround… But anyways… we try to work most of our time on the Java Release!

versuche verzweifelt die rar datei zu entpacken( mit 7zip). dann meldet er permanent, dass er die nicht öffnen kann…dachte erst der download hätte nicht gefunzt, aber nach 2 mal ausprobieren kann ich das wohl ausschließen. was mache ich falsch?
@dr.jackal: Gegebenfalls noch einmal herunterladen das ganze.. und vll mit winrar versuchen zu entpacken. Aber normalerweise sollte es auch miz 7zip problemlos funktionieren…
okay. hat sich erledigt. es lag am free download manager. der hat die datei jedes mal verstümmelt o.O seltsam… ganz normaler download ging wie geschmiert ^^.

Version .65 does not support playlist downloads although the release notes say it does.

please upload on mediafire . it is much better than uploaded.to!! uploaded .to doesnt allow us to download through downlo0ad accelerators and also has waiting period and download limitations, while mediafire has none of these problems . great work anyways!!!

0.66 version does not show the song title anymore on searches, just the artist and album name. Has Grooveshark changed the interface somehow?

Hab das gleiche Problem seit kurzen, es werden nur noch Album und Interpret angezeigt in der Suche. Hab GrooveDown auch so eingestellt das nur der Songname als Platzhalter gesetzt wird, dadurch heißen dann die Songs einfach nur .mp3…
There is no error for title or song name but I get eidhostrequired error most of the songs!
well, you could provide some more info, like your operating system, and what you were downloading. But you really should try out Groovedown 0.7.0,, its more stable and lets you download even playlists.
Wenn ich was suchen will, dann geht einfach nichts mehr. Des sucht mehrere Minuten lang und es bleibt immer nur das Lade Zeichen. Was kann ich machen?

wenn ich groovedown starte öffnet sich ein so großes fenster das der downloadbutton nicht erreichbar ist.minimieren geht auch nicht.hat jemand das gleiche problem.an meinem anderen pc das gleiche .

ich habe das Problem,das mein Groovedown keine songs mehr sucht…Das heißt ich starte das Programm und alles ist ganz normal… sobald cih jetzt jedoch einen song eingebe und es suchen lass ist neben dem “search” button ein Ladezeichen ( also der kreis das man sieht das es ladet) aber es findet nichts mehr bzw ich bekomm garkeine rückmeldung mehr. Sprich meine songs werden nicht gefunden. Dies läuft aber ewig weiter also es bricht nicht ab und bringt mir n error aber es geht einfach net
was kann ich da machen ?
