Ahoi folks!
As we already told you, the next version of GrooveDown will be written in Java. Well, there will
be lots and lots of changes, we want to improve GD even more and we want YOUR ideas and wishes for the coming release. So do not hesitate and write all of them into a comment to this post and we will see what we can do 
Unfortunately we are not able to tell you right now how long it will take us to release GrooveDown 0.X, but it most likely wont be done before next year. So please be patient and post your wishes!

Hey there! first of all: great tool! it’s like the new underground napster
well what i’d like to see is a playlist download. i imagine it like that you create a playlist in grooveshark. then you click on sharing and get an url for that playlist. then you could paste this link into groovedown, which loads the songs from that playlist and downloads them. should be no technical biggie i think. so cheers guys, and keep up the good work!

I think being able to log in from Groovedown and download your playlists, likes, faves would be great. Also the look of the program itself, you aren’t able to resize it..I think that would be a great improvement as well as maybe skins. Also being able to listen to grooveshark straight from the software especially the radio feature would be amazing.
Hallo, ich sehe schon, dass sie sich zurzeit sehr intensiv mit Ihrem Programm GrooveDown beschäftigen und wollte Ihnen ein paar Verbesserungsvorschläge geben.
1. Es wäre sehr schon, wenn man einstellen könnte, wie viele Downloads parallel durchgeführt werden. Nur ein Download an sich, ist etwas zu langsam.
2. Sie können einen Windows Media Player COM-Objekt erstellen, mit der man die MP3-Datei streamen kann. Also um sich die Musik als Beispiel anzuhören.
3. Vielleicht ein Autoupdater. Ist aber nicht dringend notwendig, finde ich

Ich fänd Playlist-Downloaden, Previews, sowie die Suche nach Alben statt nur nach Titeln super!:)
Und vllt. eine Erhöhung der gleichzeitigen Downloads;)
Playlistdownloads, Vorschau, komplette Album-Downloads, speichern der Downloadliste, falls das Programm beim Download abstürzt, Anhalten und Fortsetzen der Downloads, sortieren in Alben (keine Unknown-Alben mehr), automatischer Aufruf eines Batchfiles wenn der Downloadvorgang abgeschlossen ist, Möglichkeit, weiter Songs zum Download auszuwählen, auch wenn gerade ein Download aktiv ist, Deutsche Benutzeroberfläche, direktes eingeben der gewünschten ID3-Tags wenn man einen Song zum Download auswählt, mehrere gleichzeitige Downloads, Sortierung der Suchergebnisse, automatisch immer Top 10 herunterladen, alle Songs eines Interpreten herunterladen
Love the application. Props. Wayyyy better than using IDM but has a few things that can be improved on.
I would love to be able to see the bit-rate for songs to avoid downloading poor quality songs.
A preview/play function would be nice too.
Whilst this may be impossible, if you could have a user log in to grooveshark, select a playlist and download it in one shot, that would be awesome. Much better than looking for individual files.

They will rewrite it in JAVA . That means it work on all Operating Systems. Also on Debian / Ubuntu / mint …
And it works also on Solaris/ other Unix based systems

Replace the search results control with a list-view so that sorting and quick searching will be easier. I would also like to see a check mark next to a song that has been added to the download list so we know what was added.
Once again great job guys. Looking forward to the new version!
An idea : the possibility to use HTTP proxy. It’s easy to implement and would be great and useful !!!!!

Also erstmal will ich sagen, dass dieses Program echt super ist, aber falls man es schafft auch noch seine eigenen playlists/artists/songs… von seinem Grooveshark Acc runterzuladen, wäre das echt ne phänomenale Weiterentwicklung!

For the next version, it would be interesting to integrate a streaming module to preview the songs before download them (for example with DewPlayer…).
I think you code in java and it would be cool to make GrooveDown for other OS (mainly Linux, Mac OS and why not Android ^^).

let’s start with that: Great tool, nice structured GUI, easy to use, pretty fast.
But you were also asking for ideas for the future release:
What about a “shutdown-after-all-downloads-are-finished” feature?
Or even better (OK, that’s only my opinion
):
Give it the possibility to autorun an external program (maybe *exe, *bat, ***, or just a console command) after the downloads are finished.
Something like that is already realized in a Firefox extension called “Auto ShutDown” ans it’s very useful.

Mein Vorschlag ist recht simpel: Wenn man nach etwas gesucht hat, z.B. einem Album wäre es perfekt wenn man die Suchergebnisse, ähnlich wie bei Grooveshark, nach Alben oder Interpreten ordnen könnte. Im Moment muss man sich immer jeden Song einzeln zusammensuchen. Ein weiterer dafür nützlicher Punkt wäre die Anzeige der Tracknummer (also welcher Track es im Album ist). Mir ist natürlich klar, dass diese Funktionen nur so gut ist wie die Tags, aber ein solches Feature wäre trotzdem eine tolle Sache
Auch von mir ein dickes Dankeschön für das Programm!
Die Ideen mit den Tags finde ich gut, gerade mit Titelnummer usw. Hierzu würde ich noch hinzufügen, dass man die Bitrate sehen kann, weil man so nerviges Mehrfachdownloaden aufgrund schlechterer Quali vermeiden kann!

bei mir funktioniert die pro-suche mit artist: etc nicht bekomme dabei immer 0 results. Gleicher suchstring in Grooveshark gibt massig Ergebnisse

Die momentange Version 0.64 ist schon klasse, lässt aber noch etwas Suchkomfort vermissen (nach Titel, Künstler, Album).
Auch gibt es einen kleinen Bug, so dass die Titel bei der Einstellung “Artist – Title” immer als “Artist-Title” abgespeichert werden. Naja, gibt schlimmeres

Aber noch etwas abgesehn vom Programm: Ihr sprecht zwar deutsch, aber eure Addresse endet auf .us , eure Anschrift ist in der Türkei , und euer Server steht in Estland (na ist ja immerhin EU
). Das alles wirkt genauso vertrauenserweckend wie dass die Server von Kino.to in Tonga stehen.
Da euer Projekt nun aber WIRKLICH LEGAL IST (habe länger recherchiert) finde ich, dass ihr das nicht nötig habt

i think you should make the layout less simple looking..perhaps a background and something else would do. I would also like to suggest that you have a play and pause button before we actually download the songs. AND ALSO, PLEASE FIX THE BUGS…TOO MANY ERRORS

Much appreciated improvements:
1. Fix bugs (i.e. 0kb files when downloading more than 1 file at a time, search bar freezes when not in use for a while, etc.)
2.organize search results with song name, artist, albums in different columns.
3. seperate feature to play/ pause media and create playlists.
4. when minimized, the module not disappear from icon bar.
5. cooler theme (black on green or black on electric blue)
6. have a feature that allows you to directly send a message to google’s ceo telling him to stop being an asshole and leave grooveshark alone. XD
7. GO MOBILE! : )
Some improvements i like seeing in this awesome tool:
1. finding your favs. / playlists ect. on grooveshark and dl. the hole damn thing
2. when you download fx. 500 songs at once, files get broken… fix that.
3. when your search for a song, then i would like to see the bitrate of the song and get a preview to see wich has the better quality.
4. The search needs some improvement, fx. better search engine, and “did you mean?” function, and one last thing… genre search! say.. i would like alot of Dubstep Ô who dosnt????

Support for Asian characters (unicode). At the moment GrooveDown search does not recognize Asian songs or artists (for example 安室奈美恵, 蔡依林).
I would like it even better if you could download your own playlist you have made in Grooveshark, also if you could get some kind of links on albums to the song you where searching for! Also a review to which song has the better quality!
If you could fix this it would be even more Awesome!

Please chose whatever system agnostic language you want: python, ruby, vala, lua.. whatever.. but free us from java.
Hallo Leute, klasse Programm.
Leider gibt es immer wieder Titel oder Alben, die auf MS-DOS Steuerzeichen enden wie z.B. “So weit…”. Dann öffnet sich eine Info-Box, daß man ein neues Download-Verzeichnis anlegen soll, eine weitere mit Anzeige “invalid pointer” und das Teil “hängt” bis zum Neustart des Programms.
Wäre klasse, wenn man das in den Griff bekäme. Schön wäre auch eine gezielte Suche nach einem Titel von einem bestimmten Album, evtl. nach der Art: “Hans Wurst” – “Mein Senf (disk?)” – “Lied für *”.
Dies würde auch die Suche nach Cover-Versionen verschiedener Künstler erleichtern oder auch nach Album-, Single-, Radio-, extended-, Remix- usw. Versionen eines einzelnen Künstlers.
So sind einige ältere Titel im Handel nur noch schwer bis gar nicht mehr erhältlich oder es gibt nur noch die erfolgreichste Auskopplung, andererseits könnte man so vor dem Neukauf “vorhören”, ob man die gesuchte Version des Titels auch auf dem gewünschten Album vorfindet.
Schön wäre auch, wenn Titel mit 0 Bytes Daten erst gar nicht gespeichert (und beim Neustart übersprungen) würden oder sich eine minimale Datenrate einstellen ließe. Auch so könnte man leere Dateien vermeiden.
Wie bereits von den Vorrednern genannt, fände auch ich es schön, wenn man Listen erstellen könnte, über die die gewünschten Titel nacheinander abgearbeitet werden, ohne immer wieder eine neue Suchabfrage zu starten.
It would be very very cool if you could add the option to download full playlists, (for example: http://grooveshark.com/#/playlist/Dubstep/53191305 has 1000 songs and it will take a long time to download them one by one

I agree with everybody here : the main change you could do for making lots of Grooveshark users happy is the playlist download !

My Suggestions
1. Can you put a Queue list or something cause I once used in and downloaded files and I though of adding another song in the download list but after my initial download finished the other song i added were deleted from the download list
2. How about a separate column for album name etc.. in that way it will look more neat.
3. An auto deletion of incorrectly saved file if ever an error occurs

Songs are 128 kbps for the most part. Musicfrost gave 128, 256, 320 and you could choose.
You could play songs in Musicfrost before downloading. Not Groovedown.
Today you can sign up for free Premiere version. Click on Premiere, input password, still asks for money.
When Musicfrost was working, it was much superior to Groovedown.
1. the option to download a playlist or favorites, my lists or others.
2. the option to remove duplicate songs from the DL list (if they are on different disk/label they are stored in different folders, so they are not skipped)
3. i would like to be able to save all files in one folder

Integration with iTunes, to see if I have the music already before downloading. Most of the time I just type something and download all. Specially to popular musics…
Suggestions for the next version? I have a few…
1. List sorting by album, artist, song title. Both for the search window and the download queue. This will help people sort out what songs are in the list and spot possible duplicates.
2. Song Bitrate, as probably already mentioned in these replies. We’d like to see what the bitrate is prior to downloading the songs so we can make a judgement as to whether it is worth downloading in the first place, or to find similar songs with better quality.
3. Song Preview – again possibly something you have heard a number of times.
4. Search by Artist, Album, Song Title and possibly Genre (Similar). This way you can restate the search by Genre and find similar artists and music.
5. After searching for a song, maybe a button that says “Find Similar” that would automatically resend the search under the Genre option.
6. Explore Playlists: while the option to download an entire playlist seems enticing, often times we will find that not all of the songs in a playlist are something we want. Better to expand to view the playlist itself that a song is part of, so we can decide what songs from the playlist to add to our queue.
7. Ability to disable the folder structure at will, but not permanently. Usually sorted by album, artist, etc in folder hierarchy, it would be nice to send to a generic folder and ignore those settings sometimes.
Please add the functionality of downloading the “my music” section. I want to download my library in Grooveshark badly.

Es wäre sehr praktisch, wenn die Suchergebnisse direkt anzeigen würden, wie viel kb/s jedes einzelne Lied hat. So könnte man die Qualität der Ergebnisse einschätzen und gleich die höchste Qualität downloaden. Gerade bei älteren Lieder sind oft welche mit 128kb/s bei Grooveshark. Dann muss man mehrere Suchergebnisse downloaden, bis endlich etwas mit z.b. 192kb/s oder höher dabei ist.
Ist dies prinzipiell überhaupt möglich?

It’d be nice if I could actually search and download songs, as that is the purpose of Groovedown is it not?? Also, how come when I try to delete the program I can’t find it anywhere on my laptop? Wtf kind of system is this??? Either fix this shit or tell me how to delete it cuz I am getting super agitated with it. Thanks.
